Gladys McGee Bateman, age 92, passed away on January 30, 2002, from illness related to age in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Gladys was born July 23, 1909 in Nampa, Idaho, the daughter of Ross Solon and Irene Hunt McGee. She married Leo G. Bateman, October 14, 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the parents of two sons, Randall Leo Bateman (who died at birth) and Bruce Kent Bateman. Gladys was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully during her life in many callings in her Stratford Ward. As she served as Stake Relief Society president there and was active at the Grant 4th Ward at the Graystone Apartment area where she resided for many years.
She is survived by her son, Kent and daughter-in-law Elianne Bateman, Sherman Oaks, CA; five grandchildren, Derek Bateman, Justine, Jason, Jordan and Kedric Bateman; brothers and sisters Elise McGee, American Fork; Cel Bramall (husband of Golda), Mapleton; Alice McGee (wife of Russell) Salt Lake City; Irene M. (C. Ward) Despain, St. George, Lloyd (Marna) McGee, Brigham City; LaRaine (Dolly) McGee, Granite; Colleen (Fred) Maynes, Granite; Leola (Elwin) Rees, Hoytsville; Myrna (Kale) Smith, American Fork and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Elsie G. McGee; husband Leo G. Bate-man; son Randall Leo Bateman; sister Golda Bramall; brother Russell; bro-ther Solon and his wife Louise McGee.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2002 at 12 noon at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 S Highland Dr, where friends may call from 10:45-11:45 prior to services. Interment Sandy City Cemetery.
