Nominations for "Small Business of the Year" are being accepted by the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

The award, sponsored by Kelly Company, will be given to a small business that has creatively and imaginatively developed its products and services, contributed to the community and demonstrated growth in employment, volume and sales."Big business typically receives a great deal of attention," said Douglas Rhodes, small business/community development director. "We want to recognize small businesses that are quietly strengthening Utah."

Nominations will be reviewed by a committee chaired by Sam Guevara of Art House Graphics Studio. Applications should be received by October 24.

The winner will represent the chamber in a state competition sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Utah's winner will go on to compete at the national competition.
