A television crew from ABC-TV will be in Provo on Saturday to tape portions of the Alan Osmond-produced "Stadium of Fire" fireworks spectacular in Brigham Young University's Cougar Stadium.

The tape will be used as part of an ABC special Sunday called "A Star-Spangled Celebration," hosted by Patrick Duffy of "Dallas." Provo's celebration will join those of other U.S. festivities selected by ABC, including New Orleans, St. Louis and New York City.Marty Pasetta Productions of Los Angeles, the producing company for the special, will record the segment with the Osmond Boys and the Osmond Brothers. It will also pan the crowd, with close-ups most likely to be taken of the crowd sitting on the grass seats in the north section of the playing arena, said Bill Critchfield, a producer with the spectacular. Some of the fireworks also will be taped.

"We were approached two months ago about our participation," said Marilyn Tune, an associate producer. "Through some of Alan's contacts, they heard about our show with the big crowds. While this national television spot is a good opportunity to show part of the Provo show, viewing the show on Sunday will not be the same as seeing the complete show in the stadium."

The Stadium of Fire is one of 25 events in America's Freedom Festival at Provo celebration.
