"Mr. Dirt," a local U.S. presidential candidate sponsoring the National Independent Candidates Convention at Park City on July 6-8, is looking for residents who want to be convention delegates.
He said he hopes to proportionately represent the racial and religious makeup of the United States by using local residents. Members of the convention's forum would narrow the field of candidates allowed to speak each day at the convention. Mr. Dirt said 10 candidates have confirmed they are coming, but he hopes for up to 25.Mr. Dirt, also known as Robert Earl Anderson of Magna, said he had asked some churches to send delegations, but each declined saying it would be an intrusion of the separation of church and state. Dirt said he didn't know of any way to come up with delegates now besides ask for volunteers.
