The Utah County Commission has approved midyear budget reductions of $297,000 from the county's general fund to make up for unanticipated shortfalls.

Some funds, including the planning fund, travel council fund and food services fund actually took in more revenue than anticipated during the year's first half. However, the county experienced a large shortfall in the Public Works Department, which lost $73,000 it had budgeted for federal revenue sharing and received $110,000 less than anticipated from selling its old computer.
