The 43rd-ranked Utah State men's tennis team (7-4, 1-0 Mountain West) lost, 4-0, to No. 40 Oregon (9-2, 0-0 Pac-12) on Wednesday night in Eugene.

In doubles, junior Samuel Serrano and freshman Valdemar Holm lost, 0-6, at the No. 2 spot against the No. 16-ranked duo of senior Cormac Clissold and junior Thomas Laurent. Senior Simon Stevens and sophomore Ty Gentry clinched the doubles point for Oregon with a 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot against senior Andrew Nakajima and sophomore Sergiu Bucur. Senior Jaime Barajas and freshman Jose Carvajal competed at the No. 1 spot against junior Armando Soemarno and freshman Charles Roberts, but the match went unfinished due to the results on the other courts.

In singles, Barajas lost, 1-6, 1-6, to Laurent, who is ranked No. 13 in the nation in singles. Oregon senior Akihiro Tanaka recorded a 6-1, 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot over Serrano. Carvajal then lost, 3-6, 2-6, to junior Ethan Young-Smith. The remaining singles matches ended unfinished.

Utah State next travels to Denver, Colorado, to take on Denver (3-4, 1-1 Summit League) on Monday, March 5, at 11 a.m. MT. The Aggies then head to Tampa, Florida, to face No. 38 Old Dominion (7-5, 0-0 Conference USA) on Friday, March 9; George Washington (0-12, 0-1 Atlantic 10) on Saturday, March 10, at 11 a.m.; and South Florida (2-7, 0-1 American) on Sunday, March 11, at 8 a.m.
