Utah State men's tennis (4-3, 1-0 MW) looks to win its fourth-straight match against in-state rival BYU (7-0, 0-0 West Coast) on Friday, Feb. 16, at 5:30 p.m., in Provo. The Aggies then will host UC Irvine (1-3, 0-0 Big West) and Montana State (0-4, 0-0 Big Sky) on Sunday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club.

"This weekend will be a tough test, and I am looking forward to (seeing) how our guys will handle the competition," head coach James Wilson said. "BYU is, obviously, a huge match for us, and I'm expecting it to be very intense because it's at their place on Friday night. They have had a great year so far, and our team will need to be ready for a battle."

In singles, the Aggies are led by a trio of freshmen in Jose Carvajal, who is 5-2, Felipe Acosta, who is 4-0, and Valdemar Holm, who is 4-1. In doubles, Carvajal and senior Jaime Barajas are 2-2, as are Holm and senior Andrew Nakajima.

BYU leads the Aggies, 37-3, in the all-time series, but Utah State has won the last three matches. In singles, the Cougars are led by sophomore Sean Hill, who is 7-0 at the No. 1 spot, while freshman Ben Gajardo is also 7-0 at the Nos. 5 and 6 spots. In doubles, sophomore David Ball and junior Matthew Pearce lead BYU with a 5-1 mark.

UC Irvine leads USU, 4-1, in the series history, with Utah State winning the last matchup. In singles, junior Vatsal Bajpai, freshman Antoine Barthe, sophomore Daniel Gealer, junior Luis Lopez and Takern Wantabe have recorded a win. Bajpai and sophomore Bruce Man-Son-Hing are 2-1 in doubles.

Montana State leads Utah State, 21-14, in program history, but the Aggies have won the last two. In singles, senior Creel Smith, senior Adrian Torrico and freshman Joaquim Espinoza have recorded a victory. In doubles, senior Rok Sitar and junior Alexander Flink, along with sophomore Kasper Parlklo and Torrico, have recorded a win.
