The Idaho Steelheads scored with 3:26 left in regulation to break a 3-3 tie and held on for a 4-3 win over Utah on Friday night.

The goal came just 3:06 after Utah tied the game at three on a four-on-four goal from Cliff Watson as he sent it in from the left wing wall through traffic.

Utah built a 2-0 first-period lead as Anaheim Ducks prospect Alex Dostie scored on the power play in his Grizzlies debut and then assisted fellow prospect Mitch Hults on a two-on-one up ice 6:24 later at 16:08 of the first period. Cliff Watson and Austin Ortega drew assists on the first goal as Dostie scored on a second chance in front.

Idaho made it 2-1 with 1:15 left in the first period and tied the game 61 seconds into the second period on a power-play goal as the Grizzlies took a penalty on the first shift 19 seconds into the period.

The Steelheads took their first lead of the night with 4:43 left in the second period as they forced a puck away in the neutral zone.

Angus Redmond stopped 30-of-34 shots in the contest, including 16-of-17 in the first period.

Utah went 1-of-7 on the power play and 5-of-6 on the penalty kill.

The Grizzlies and Idaho complete their weekend series Saturday in Boise at 7 p.m.

The Grizzlies return home for a President’s Day Matinee and Maverik Monday on Monday, Feb. 19. On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23 and 24, the Grizzlies team with Stadler to host Wichita for Grizzlies Fight Cancer.
