Utah State women's tennis (2-0) continues its dual match season on Sunday as the Aggies take on the Arizona Wildcats (2-0) in Tucson, Arizona, at 10:45 a.m. MT.
"Arizona is a national program in the Pac-12 conference, and we know they're extremely good," head coach Sean McInerney said. "We're just excited to go down there, compete and see how we'll do. We'll go there and play as hard as we can and as smart as we can, and we'll let the chips fall where they go."
The Aggies are led in singles by freshman Sasha Pisareva who is 2-0 at the No. 1 spot, as well as sophomore Hannah Jones and senior Sabrina Demerath who are each also 2-0. Senior Maggie O'Meara and sophomore Sophia Haleas are each 1-0, while sophomore Rhoda Tanuiis is 1-1. In doubles, Pisareva and Demerath are 2-0 at the top position. The doubles team of O'Meara and junior Jenna Kane, along with the Haleas and redshirt freshman Alexandra Taylor tandem are 1-0 on the season.
Arizona has won both of the two matchups with Utah State. The Wildcats are 2-0 this season, sweeping both Northern Arizona (7-0) and Boise State (4-0) in a doubleheader on Friday. The Wildcats are led in singles by junior Camila Wesbrooks and freshman Talya Zandberg who are both 2-0. Five other Arizona players are 1-0 in singles on the season. In doubles, Wesbrooks and senior Devin Chypyha are 2-0, as are Zandberg and freshman Mary Lewis.
