SALT LAKE CITY — Jacob Miller has been named as the new executive director of the Utah Golf Association. Miller succeeds Bill Walker, who took a job with the International Association of Golf Administrators in Philadelphia.

Miller, a native of Wisconsin, has been the UGA’s director of rules and competition for nearly five years since joining the UGA in May 2013. He is a graduate of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a master’s degree in sports administration from Belmont University in Tennessee.

UGA president Randy Hadfield made the announcement at the recent UGA annual awards banquet during which Patrick Fishburn was named Men’s Amateur of the Year. Other honorees were Kelsey Chugg, women’s amateur of the year, and Brett Sampson and Sue Nyhus, who won the senior amateur awards.
