SALT LAKE CITY — The final piece of the puzzle for BYU football's 2019 schedule is now in place.

A home-and-away series with the University of South Florida has been tweaked, pushing up the Cougars' trip to play the Bulls in Tampa to Oct. 12, 2019, instead of in 2022, the USF football program announced Thursday morning.

USF will visit LaVell Edwards Stadium in 2021.

The matchup against the American Athletic Conference foe gives BYU 12 games in 2019, also including road games at Tennessee, Toledo, Utah State, UMass and San Diego State. Utah, USC, Washington, Boise State, Liberty and Idaho State will all visit Provo that fall.

USF arranged to move up the BYU game so it could schedule a three-game series with the Louisville Cardinals, beginning in 2022. The Bulls had to move previously scheduled games with BYU, UMass and San Jose State to make that happen.

BYU kicks off the 2018 football season at Arizona on Sept. 1.
