SALT LAKE CITY — As if things couldn’t get any worse in Utah Jazzland, the team was hit with more bad news Saturday.

Veteran forward Thabo Sefolosha will miss the remainder of the season with an MCL injury in his right knee, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania. He is expected to undergo surgery soon.

Sefolosha suffered the knee injury during the second quarter of Friday’s 99-88 loss in Charlotte. The Jazz (17-25) have dropped four of their last five games while being plagued by injuries all season, including All-NBA center Rudy Gobert.

Sefolosha is well-respected in the locker room and one of the Jazz’s team leaders. He averages 8.2 points and 4.2 rebounds.
