SALT LAKE CITY — The Brockport Police Department in New York received a report of a break-in. When officers responded to investigate, the furry intruder attacked.
Homeowner Susan Zinck told 13 WHAM ABC of Rochester that she heard music turn on in another room.
“I looked out and this stinking squirrel is out here eating my cookies,” Zinck told 13 WHAM. She then called 911.
The Brockport Police Department Facebook post stated officers Sime and Dawson arrived on the scene. In the video, an officer can be heard asking for the music to be turned down. The response is that the squirrel turned it on.
As the police body camera pans the kitchen, a fur ball of fury shoots from cupboard to wall to table, destroying property along the way. The squirrel then launches toward a surprised officer who jumps back and turns toward his partner as the squirrel looks for a quick escape out the open door. Footage then turns again toward the kitchen as the bandit jumps back on the counter and stove, possibly in search of more sweets.
“Brockport Police will always go the extra mile to help their residents,” posted the department, and noted the “uninvited guest was set free.”
