With the Major League Soccer season three months away, Real Salt Lake announced Tuesday that it will kick off its 2018 season on the road against FC Dallas Saturday, March 3. A week later, on Saturday, March 10, RSL will have its home-opener against the newly expanded team Los Angeles FC.

The full 34-game schedule will not be announced until January. This upcoming season will be the ninth time in the last 10 years that RSL will open the season on the road.

RSL’s home-field advantage has played a distinctive role as RSL is 87-21-43 all-time for its regular-season games since Oct. 9, 2008. In the last 13 season openers, RSL is 5-0-8 all-time, 4-0-5 at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Despite missing the playoffs, RSL finished the 2017 season on a high note with an 8-3-4 record over the last 15 matches. With the combination of veterans and youths in the club, RSL will be aiming to be among the most exciting teams to watch as Mike Petke begins coaching his first full season.
