Dixie State senior center Kristin Baldwin has been named Pacific West Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Baldwin led Dixie State to a 66-62 victory over No. 13 Azusa Pacific on Saturday, marking DSU’s first-ever win over the Cougars and its first win over a ranked opponent since 2011. Baldwin was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field, including a game-tying 3-pointer in the third quarter, and finished with 14 points and 17 rebounds (both DSU career-high marks) to go with three blocked shots for her third double-double of the season. Baldwin is ranked third in the PacWest in rebounds (9.4 per game) and blocks (2.1 per game).

The award marks DSU’s first Player of the Week honor since the 2015-16 season and the third-consecutive weekly honor for the Trailblazers.

Dixie State heads to Southern California this weekend for its first conference road trip of the season. The Trailblazers will battle California Baptist on Saturday in Riverside, followed up a matchup vs. Concordia-Irvine in Irvine next Monday.
