The Piano Guys will headline a YouTube Live concert event on Tuesday.

The Piano Guys brought the Christmas spirit to Salt Lake City on Friday night, and on Tuesday, with the help of YouTube Live, they hope to #LightTheWorld. In the concert, which will be broadcast live on YouTube at 3 p.m. MST, the Piano Guys will be joined live by David Archuleta, Nathan Pacheco, Peter Hollens, Taylor Davis, Tiffany Alvord and Dave and Claire Crosby.

Dave Crosby, whose daughter Claire first captured the hearts of millions on YouTube before Dave appeared on “The Voice,” says that the opportunity to participate in an event satisfies both of the main purposes his family has with a YouTube channel.

“The whole purpose of our YouTube channel is number one, it’s awesome life experience and it helps us spend awesome time together as a family doing cool things, but the next most important thing to us for why we keep doing YouTube is it gives us a platform and gives us the opportunity to put a voice to the things that we really care about, so the #LightTheWorld thing is definitely one of those things,” Crosby said.

Taylor Davis, a YouTube violinist with over 2.1 million subscribers, is not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but says she is a believer that “Jesus is the reason for the season." Davis told the Deseret News that she is excited to participate in an initiative to communicates that message.

“Jesus came to serve, and it’s the perfect time of year for us to be doing that and it’s kind of what embodies the spirit of Christmas,” Davis said. “So it’s an awesome initiative because as much fun as it is to plan parties and gather with family and friends and everything, the focus should be on something greater than ourselves I think.”

The Crosby family is excited to participate because as Dave Crosby explained, it is through service that we rediscover the Christmas spirit.

“I don’t think people fully realize that kind of phenomenon that happens, so it (the #LightTheWorld initiative) encourages people to serve one another, and when they do that, all those amazing feelings that Christmas is all about come back to them, and that’s just something we definitely want to be a part of,” Crosby said.
