Former BYU guard L.J. Rose was waived by the Salt Lake City Stars of the G League on Thursday.

Rose played in two regular-season games for the Stars this season and averaged 2.5 points and two assists. He hadn’t played in a game for two weeks for Salt Lake City (1-9).

His most recent game action was his best, as Rose played 13 points and had five points and four assists in a 122-111 loss to the Santa Cruz Warriors on Nov. 15. Rose connected on 2-of-5 shots from the field in the game, 0 of 2 from 3-point range and 1 for 2 from the free-throw line.

His only other game action came in a 131-88 loss to the Austin Spurs on Nov. 3, when Rose played three minutes and only recorded a turnover.

Rose joined the Cougars as a graduate transfer last year in his lone season with BYU.
