With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, most Americans have turned their culinary attention to turkey and pumpkin pie.

And Steve Young?

Try raw fish.

Well, you don’t have to, but the former BYU star did.

Young’s diet took a strange detour during a live shot outside Seattle’s CenturyLink Field with cast members from the "Deadliest Catch" show as part of ESPN’s "Monday Night Countdown" before the Falcons-Seahawks game.

“I'm a Seahawk! I eat Falcons for breakfast!” a daredevil fisherman exclaimed before sinking his teeth into a fish (apparently falcons weren't available).

Young wasn’t to be outdone. Much to the crowd’s delight — and evidently not to his own — the Hall of Fame quarterback grabbed his own serving of seafood, shoved it in his mouth and chomped off the fish’s head.

Charles Woodson captured the hilarious moment with his phone.

Laughter wasn’t the only thing that left Young’s mouth. He spit out the fish head almost as quickly as it touched his taste buds.

“That’s how you do it!” one of the "Deadliest Catch" crew yelled.

“Steve Young!” Woodson exclaimed. “Did you just kiss that fish?”

Fish heads, fish heads, roly-poly fish heads. Eat them up, yum. Right?

Joining in the fishy fun, co-host Randy Moss then grabbed a sardinelike fish and bit off its head.

The crowd loved it.

“You went all the way!” the "Deadliest Catch" fisherman shouted at Young. “You ain’t no coward!”

No word on what Young’s wife thought of his fishy breath or how many mints the "Monday Night Countdown" guys downed to get that taste out of their mouths.
