Dixie State men's golf signed Triston Gardner to a National Letter of Intent for the 2018-19 season.

Dixie State University men's golf coach Brad Sutterfield announced the signing of Snow Canyon High School standout Triston Gardner to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Trailblazers in the 2018-19 season and beyond.

Gardner (Ivins, Utah) won the 2017 Utah 4A boys golf state individual championship by two shots this past October after carding a two-round score of 1-over 145 (72-73). Prior to his state title run, Gardner also claimed Region 9 medalist honors in September, one of five prep tournaments he won during the 2017 fall season. He also posted a state 3A runner-up individual finish as a sophomore in 2015.

"We are very excited that Triston chose Dixie State. He brings a well-rounded game that is ready to compete (at) the college level,” Sutterfield said. “Triston is a great competitor and will bring enthusiasm and toughness to our team that will help us immediately. He is disciplined on the course and the classroom, which are key ingredients to success in collegiate athletics. He has won at every level he has played and we look forward to him continuing his success as a Trailblazer.”
