Utah Valley men's cross-country senior Tyson Lambert heads to the NCAA Division I Championships in Lousville to compete in the 10K race. Lambert is the second Wolverine to ever make it to the national race.

Utah Valley men's cross-country senior Tyson Lambert will conclude his illustrious cross-country career Saturday in the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, hosted by the University of Louisville at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park.

Lambert will represent the Wolverines in the men's 10K championship race that begins at 9:45 a.m. MT. The NCAA Championships can be followed via the video stream on FloTrack and live results provided by Record Timing through the links on GoUVU.

A senior from Grantsville, Utah, Lambert becomes the second UVU cross-country runner in program history to compete in the national championship men's 10K race. Meanwhile, Lambert's biggest race of his cross-country career marks his first-ever — and only — trip to the nation's top collegiate meet in the sport.

An individual trip to the national championship race comes on the heels of Lambert's All-Region selection with a 24th-place finish at the NCAA Mountain Regional, which featured the nation's top-ranked Northern Arizona among seven nationally ranked opponents. Lambert saved the best for his last appearance at regionals, as he recorded a personal record of 30:55.8 in the 10K for his highest career finish at that meet.

With his latest achievement, Lambert capped a history-making senior campaign where he etched his name in Utah Valley history as the school's first-ever runner to go undefeated during the regular season. Among his four regular-season victories, Lambert earned first-place finishes against some of the nation's top talent at the UC Riverside Invitational and the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational.

UVU's team captain joins former Wolverine Josh McCabe as the program's only other runner to compete in NCAA Championships. In his two championship appearances, McCabe placed 94th at the meet in 2012 and 242nd in 2010.

Final official results will be posted on UVU's website and on the UVU athletics Twitter page following the completion of the championship races.
