Sending out a Christmas card this year?

An article from Slate will help you to properly write your last name in plural form, which appears to be a common challenge for many holiday enthusiasts.

Slate writer Kate Brannen said she normally struggles to pluralize last names. Her friends often have similar issues when filling out their cards.

So, to combat the problem, she created her own “definitive guide for pluralizing your last name.”

“This year I’d like to pre-empt the pluralization problems. It’s mid-November now, time to order Christmas cards again. I have created a brief guide to help you pluralize your last name. It is my humble attempt to preserve not only apostrophe protocol but also the dignity of the letter S,” she wrote.
