SALT LAKE CITY — “Pac-12 After Dark” is hitting the Utah Utes two more times before season’s end. The conference announced that Saturday’s game at Washington will kick off at 8:30 p.m. (MT) and the finale at home against Colorado on Nov. 25 will begin at 8 p.m. ESPN chose to broadcast this weekend’s tilt in Seattle, while FS1 opted for what could be a chilly “Rumble in the Rockies” between the Buffaloes and Utes.

Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said he was “thrilled to get back in the late schedule” after a nice break for a couple of weeks.

“But we’ve got two later kickoffs and so, as I’ve said, never complain about refs, don’t complain about kickoff times — just go with the flow,” he added.

The Utes will end up playing seven games that started at 7:30 p.m. (MT) or later this season. Two others began at 5:30 and 6 p.m., respectively.

Three of their last four games, though, started earlier — at 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 3:45 p.m.

TOUGH LOSS: Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson is mourning the loss of Fresno-area prep football coach Tony Perry, who died Saturday at the age of 54. Perry coached Johnson in 7-on-7 competitions the past two years. Johnson noted that he grew up hearing about Perry and grew up being around him.

“I definitely, like, looked up to him. He was like a mentor to me,” said Johnson, who acknowledged he’s hurting with the news of Perry’s passing. “I can’t go home and see him and talk to him again. So it’s just something I’ve got to get used to.”

Johnson’s Twitter page features a tribute to Perry, as well as a message.

“This man believed in me when nobody did,” it reads. “He helped me get what I dreamed about as a kid. He was truly a blessing from God. RIP TP.”
