SALT LAKE CITY — You can get a backstage pass to the 2018 Sundance Film Festival without the hefty price tag.
The organization is looking for volunteers to staff its upcoming festival, which will take place Jan. 18-28 in Park City.
Volunteers will receive exclusive access to screenings and nontheater venues, as well as a limited-edition 2018 Kenneth Cole Sundance Film Festival jacket, snacks and a ticket to a party specifically for volunteers, according to an email from the Sundance Institute.
Anyone 18 and over can apply by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tickets are also still available for the event, though space may be limited, on its website here.
Last year's Sundance Film Festival broke records for attendance and its economic impact on the state of Utah. According to a report released by Y2 Analytics, the 2017 Sundance Film Festival had more than 71,000 people in attendance for the entire event and brought in more than $151.5 million to the state.
"It is apparent that the Sundance Film Festival continues to have an expanding impact on Utah's vibrant and diverse economy," Gov. Gary Herbert said, according to the Deseret News. "In addition to the obvious economic benefits, our ongoing collaboration with Sundance Institute highlights the exceptional cultural, recreational, tourism and business opportunities available here in Utah."
