Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell (45) dunks the ball as the Utah Jazz and the LA Lakers play at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017. Utah won 96-81.

Utah Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell has had his fair share of struggles through the first five games of his NBA career, but on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Lakers, he showed off the incredible athleticism that has gotten people excited about his potential.

Late in the third quarter, Alec Burks pulled up for a fast-break 3-pointer that clanged off the back of the rim. Stationed on the perimeter on the opposite side of the court from Burks, Mitchell ran toward the basket and soared above fellow rookie Lonzo Ball for the put-back dunk.

Mitchell, who had struggled from the field in previous games, scored 22 to lead all scorers.
