Several local players with NFL ties had significant performances during the second week of the preseason. Here's a look at some of the best numbers from the week.

23

The number of yards Taysom Hill ran for his game-winning touchdown run for Green Bay in a 21-17 win over Washington. Hill rushed for a team-high 38 yards in the game.

Hill’s 23-yard run is the first run of 20 or more yards by a former BYU quarterback in the NFL since Steve Young had a 24-yarder for the San Francisco 49ers in a 31-7 win over the New York Giants on Nov. 30, 1998.

22

The number of NFL locals who started games in Week 2 of the preseason.

That included four rookies: former Utes Garett Bolles (OT, Denver) and Marcus Williams (FS, New Orleans), as well as former Cougars Jamaal Williams (RB, Green Bay) and Harvey Langi (LB, New England).

Others of note: former Utah wide receiver Dres Anderson started for Houston, while former Southern Utah safety Miles Killebrew started for Detroit and had three solo tackles and a tackle for loss.

57

Number of offensive snaps for former Utah offensive lineman Sam Tevi for the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers drafted Tevi in the sixth round this year, and the 57 offensive snaps were 50 more than he had the previous week.

Several local ties who play on the offensive line had significant NFL snap counts, including former Utes Isaac Asiata (33 for Miami) and Tony Bergstrom (26 for Arizona) and former Cougar De’Ondre Wesley (47 for Baltimore).

Langi played a team-high 49 defensive snaps for the Patriots.

8

Former Utah State and Fremont High linebacker Nick Vigil led Cincinnati with eight tackles in a 30-12 loss to Kansas City. It’s the second week in a row he’s either led outright or tied for the team lead in tackles and has 14 tackles so far in the preseason.

Another former Aggie, Marwin Evans, also led Green Bay for the second straight week with six tackles in a 21-17 win over Washington and has 12 in the preseason.

2

Number of weeks former Utah State wide receiver JoJo Natson has led Indianapolis in receiving. This week, he had three catches for 60 yards in the Colts’ 24-19 loss to Dallas.

Natson had five receptions for 51 yards the previous week against Detroit and has 111 receiving yards thus far in the preseason.
