OREM — In an effort to better serve students, Utah Valley University has created a new college focused on health professions, public and emergency services, and aviation.

The College of Health and Public Service comprises 14 schools, departments and major programs, including two graduate programs and five online degrees.

Areas of study within the new college include allied health, aviation sciences, criminal justice, dental hygiene, emergency services, forensic science, national security studies, nursing, public service, and public and community health.

The college will also be home to the Utah Law Enforcement Academy, the firefighting Recruit Candidate Academy and the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy.

Its newest offering, a master’s of public service, will welcome its inaugural students this month.

An open house celebrating the creation of the college will be held Oct. 12 in UVU’s Health Professions Building.
