In response to Mark Sanderson's letter to the editor ("Sabbath observance," Aug. 7), what most people do not realize is that 90 percent or more of the Sunday newspaper is produced on Saturday or earlier. Very little is done on Sunday itself. Sunday work is generally confined to printing, collating the news and inserts together and delivering the paper (much of the collating — especially the inserts — is done earlier in the week). The work done on Sunday is to produce the Monday paper (such work is minimal in contrast to the Saturday work).
