The BYU football program on Monday received its second commitment of the week for the Class of 2018 from safety Talan Alfrey.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Alfrey, who attends Auburn (Washington) Mountainview High School, announced his decision via Twitter and indicated that he will serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before beginning his playing career with the Cougars.
A 2-star prospect, according to Scout.com, Alfrey also holds scholarship offers from Air Force, Idaho and Nevada. The offer from the Falcons was his first, which he tweeted that he received on May 19.
He tweeted that he received his offer from BYU on June 22.
Alfrey's commitment comes after Arizona wide receiver Gunner Romney announced his pledge last Saturday.
Alfrey did not immediately return a request seeking additional comment on his decision.
