PROVO — A road game against Princeton, a trip to Brooklyn for the Barclays Center Classic, and a home game against Utah highlight the BYU basketball team's non-conference schedule that was released Tuesday.

The Cougars open the 2017-18 season at home against Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 11 before visiting Princeton, which won the Ivy League last season, on Nov. 15. On Nov. 18 BYU hosts UT Arlington, which ended the Cougars' season in the first round of the NIT last March.

On Nov. 24 and 25, BYU will play in the Barclays Center Classic against Alabama and UMass. The Cougars will then visit Utah Valley, which knocked off BYU in Provo last year, followed by games against Utah State, Illinois State, Weber State.

The BYU-Weber State matchup will take place on Dec. 9 at Vivint Smart Home Arena as part of the inaugural Beehive Classic.

On Dec. 16, the Cougars will host Utah after a one-year hiatus in the longstanding rivalry that dates back to 1909. It will mark the Utes' first appearance at the Marriott Center since December 2014.

BYU wraps up its non-conference slate on Dec. 23 against Texas Southern.

All tipoff times, television plans and the 2017-18 West Coast Conference schedule will be announced later.
