Bystanders in the 500 block of Monroe Boulevard tried to resuscitate Austin Lujan, of Ogden, but their attempts failed, said Ogden Police Lt. Kevin Cottrell.

No one was inside the house when the crash happened about 1:15 p.m., Cottrell said, and damage to the home was minimal.

Lujan was the only person in the car. There were no obvious signs of drugs or alcohol playing a role in the crash, Cottrell said, and Lujan didn't appear to have crashed on purpose.

Cottrell said his department responds to calls of a car plowing into a home "very, very rarely."
