Three people are dead and another has unknown injuries after a rollover crash near Tremonton early June 19, 2017. Police say all four people in the vehicle weren't wearing seat belts and were ejected when it rolled. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.

TREMONTON, Box Elder County — Three people were killed and one hospitalized Monday after a rollover crash in which police say no seat belts were worn and alcohol may have been involved.

Dispatchers received a call reporting the crash about 2 a.m. Monday at 8300 N. Iowa String Road (6800 West) after another driver found a woman "sitting on the road," Box Elder County Chief Sheriff's Deputy Dale Ward said.

The woman — Cherie Ann Collyer, 39, of Perry — told the driver three other people had been in the vehicle with her, which had come to a stop in a canal that runs parallel to the road, Ward reported.

Two men were found dead near the Nissan Pathfinder, while the body of a second woman was found about 1.25 miles downstream in the canal, according to Ward. They have been identified as three Box Elder County residents: Jose Gabriel Esquivel, 40, of Garland; Chris C. Martin, 40, of Willard; and Adalynn Head, 37, of Tremonton.

Collyer was transported to Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton and flown to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. Her condition was unknown, Ward said.

Investigators believe the Pathfinder was northbound on Iowa String Road when it left the road and the driver overcorrected, rolling the SUV, Ward said. The SUV landed in the canal on the west side of the road.

None of the vehicle's four occupants were wearing seat belts, and all were ejected during the crash, Ward said, adding that investigators also suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Police have not specified who is believed to have been driving at the time of the crash.
