Former Utah State defensive back Will Davis joined his third NFL team Thursday, signing a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
Davis has been out of the league since being released by the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 4, 2016.
The former Aggie was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft. He played two seasons in Miami and played a career-high 10 games for the Dolphins in 2014 and had 17 tackles and a pair of pass deflections.
He was traded to Baltimore on Sept. 21, 2015, but suffered a season-ending ACL tear after playing in just two games for the Ravens that season. He played in three games at safety for Baltimore and had four tackles last season before being released.
Davis played for Utah State from 2011-12, finishing with 99 career tackles and five interceptions. He is one of nine cornerbacks listed on the 49ers’ roster and is the most veteran player among the group, as Davis heads into his fifth NFL season.
With his signing, there are 95 players with Utah ties on NFL rosters, including 20 former Utah State players.
