McDonald’s just made another change to its menu. But it might not impact Americans anytime soon.
As Inc. reported, McDonald’s announced the all-new Chicken Big Mac sandwich. It won’t be available on the U.S. menu, however.
Various countries around the world sell the sandwich, including both Australia and Sweden.
“The iconic Big Mac and the McChicken are among our most popular burgers, so it made sense to mix up these two classics and give our customers a new and exciting product to try — the Chicken Big Mac,” said Jenni Dill, chief technical officer of McDonald’s Australia, according to Fox News.
In fact, customer recommendations inspired the creation of the new sandwich, Inc. reported.
“Word on the street is that the Chicken Big Mac has been part of the McDonald's secret menu in Australia for some time, leading the company to take advantage of the hype and build some marketing buzz,” according to Inc.
Recently, Americans expressed dismay that McDonald’s added curly fries to its menu in Singapore and the Philippines, according Refinery29.
People in those countries popularized the fries through social media posts, sparking frustration among Americans that they don’t have those fries yet.
“So for now we'll have to make do with the classic spears. But that won't stop us from hoping that this twisted take makes its way stateside, stat. Could summer 2017 be the summer of Twister Fries? Only time will tell,” according to Refinery29.
McDonald’s also announced the creation of the Frork, a fork-like device that uses fries for spokes, the Deseret News reported.
But some popular items aren’t made to last. McDonald’s announced in April that it would eliminate the Hi-C Orange drink beginning on May 1, The Huffington Post reported.
McDonald’s new contract with Coca-Cola led to the drink’s dismal. The fast food chain replaced the orange drink with Sprite TropicBerry soda.
