Amelia Sepulveda high-fives an engineering student volunteer while learning how to build a heart monitor in an electronic circuit workshop during a SheTech Explorer Day program at Weber State University in Ogden on Friday. The event, put on by the Women Tech Council, gave more than 400 high school girls from rural parts of the state or other areas largely beyond the reach of traditional science, technology, engineering and math outreach programs hands-on experience and mentoring from more than 30 tech companies through activities such as robotics, aerospace dynamics and virtual reality.
