Utah is full of nerds.

In 2014, the real estate website Estately published a list that named Utah the nerdiest state in the country. The Beehive State ranked ahead of Alaska, Wyoming and Idaho.

Estately created the list after calculating how many people listed such activities as Dungeons & Dragons, LARPing and “Star Wars” on their Facebook profiles, according to Time magazine.

But it's no secret Utah is full of “Star Wars” fans. In 2014, Google Trends data showed that Utahns Googled more stuff about Star Wars than any other state, according to The Washington Post. Beehive Staters are 25 percent more likely to Google “Star Wars” material than its nearest competitor, California.

More recently, The Megaplex Theaters at Jordan Commons topped the nation with the most amount of total dollar revenue for “Star Wars: Rogue One,” according to the Deseret News.

It’s no surprise then that Utah hosts FanX, a Comic Con convention that features celebrity speakers, cosplayers and pop culture breakout sessions.

Utahns are also major college basketball fans. The state is home to one of the NCAA’s biggest rivalries.

And, this year, the Vivint SmartHome Arena hosts first and second round games of the 2017 NCAA Tournament on both Thursday and Saturday.

The arena will host No. 1 Gonzaga vs. No. 16 South Dakota, No. 8 Northwestern vs. No. 9 Vanderbilt; No. 2 Arizona vs. No. 15 North Dakota; and No. 7 Saint Mary's vs. No. 10 VCU.

Salt Lake City will be a mashup of nerds and basketball fans this weekend. And we at the Deseret News decided to have our own fun with the upcoming events by mashing Utah’s first love “Star Wars” with the upcoming basketball tournament.

Our own Eric Rigby put together the images below of “Star Wars” characters that would score big on the NCAA court. Check them out below and leave a comment with your favorite.
