The LDS Church History Museum announced six winners of the Visitors’ Choice Awards for the 10th International Art competition, according to a news release.
The top six Visitors’ Choice Award winners are Bethany Bates for “At His Feet” (scratchboard), Meagan Ruth Getz for “We Are Come to Worship Him” (watercolor on paper), Mary Hutchings for “Then Sings My Soul” (quilted textile), Clark Kelley Price for “Truly This Man Was the Son of God” (oil on canvas), Kelly Lane Pugh for “The Savior” (oil on board) and Dana Mario Wood for “Come Let Us Adore Him” (oil on panel).
The competition, “Tell Me the Stories of Jesus,” received 944 submissions from 40 countries, according to the news release. The exhibit features works of 97 artists who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from throughout the world. The exhibit opened at the museum Sept. 30. Voting took place from the opening through June 30, both online and at the museum. More than 12,000 votes were cast, according to the news release.
The 10th International Art Competition exhibit will be on display at the museum through Aug. 13.
The 11th International Art Competition is set for 2019 and the theme is “Meditations on Belief.”
