Fomer BYU football great and Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer is now the new BYU offensive coordinator under new head coach Kalani Sitake, Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, in Provo.

Ty Detmer threw for 15,031 yards during his playing days at BYU from 1987-91.

On Tuesday, the Cougars' new offensive coordinator tossed for a couple more while working in BYU's football offices.

As seen in a video posted on Twitter by Cougars director of player personnel Jack Damuni, the pair connected on a short pass, with Damuni asking, "Can you come to work and catch a pass from Ty Detmer?" before he runs out for the catch.

Tanner Mangum featured in Orlando Sentinel

The BYU football program is sure getting love from Matt Murschel of the Orlando Sentinel this week.

A day after Murschel identified three 2016 Cougar games in a list of 25 nonconference contests he's looking forward to, he wrote a feature about sophomore quarterback Tanner Mangum.

In it, Mangum discussed how his LDS mission prepared him for last season, his growing up years and his outlook on a new era in BYU football.

“If you work hard and stay positive, good things can happen but you just have to be ready to go," he said.

What if NBA teams had full-scale ads on their jerseys?

Last week, NBA owners approved a measure that will allow small ads to appear on team jerseys beginning in the 2017-18 season.

On Wednesday morning, ESPN published illustrations of what jerseys might look like will full-scale ads on them.

The Utah Jazz's jersey was imagined with a full-size Zions Bank ad.
