SANDY — Rookie Omar Holness was released from the hospital Saturday night after suffering a seizure during the 34th minute of Real Monarchs' game against St. Louis FC on Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium in his professional debut.

According to RSL communications, The match was delayed for 20 minutes as medical personnel attended to Holness on the pitch. According to RSL, the 22-year-old Jamaican midfielder was taken to a local hospital for further medical evaluation but released just before midnight. He will undergo further evaluation from RSL's team doctor and the RSL medical staff, the club added.

It was the USL opener for the Monarchs.

Holness was playing on loan from Real Salt Lake, which selected him fifth overall in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. He played collegiately at North Carolina.
