SOUTH SALT LAKE — The city's fire department is conducting free monthly preparedness training on the second Thursday of each month.

The next meeting is Thursday, June 11, at Fire Station 41, 2600 S. Main, between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. There will be a brief presentation each month covering information such as life and fire safety, earthquake preparedness and other topics.

Each presentation will be 10-15 minutes with a Q-and-A session. Presentations will be given every 30 minutes throughout the two-hour period.
