LEHI — A Utah County cycling team of about 50 riders was out for a Saturday team ride when one of the members was struck and killed by a semitrailer.

The fatal collision happened near 2600 N. 1200 West at about 10:45 a.m., and the road was temporarily closed for the investigation.

Details are still unclear of how the 37-year-old woman was hit, but Lehi police said she was traveling the same direction as the truck. Other members of the Abloc cycling team, who witnessed the collision, have spoken to investigators and are helping to piece together how it happened.

Police have not released the name of the woman, but said she was killed instantly. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
