Carolina's Star Lotulelei, who prepped at Bingham High, is joining an elite club.

Lotulelei, who also played at Snow College and Utah, is the 25th NFL athlete who played high school football in the state of Utah to reach the Super Bowl.

The Panthers beat Arizona 49-15 in the NFC Championship on Sunday and will play Denver, 20-18 winners over New England, in Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7.

This is the fourth straight year a Utah high school player has reached the Super Bowl.

Based on information from Pro Football Reference and the official Super Bowl website, 24 players who attended Utah high schools have advanced to the Super Bowl in previous seasons. This does not include players on the practice squad.

Those 24 players have a combined record of 9-23 in the championship game, and Utah high schoolers have played in 21 of the 49 previous Super Bowls.
