BYU is in talks with Wagner College for a game to be played next season at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

On Wednesday, Wagner linebacker Kishon Banks tweeted out, “We got two bowl teams on our schedule next year, Rice and BYU. I can't wait man!!!”

His original tweet has since been taken down, but Banks later tweeted in response to an inquiry that the Seahawks would take on the Cougars “midseason.”

Wagner assistant athletic director of media relations John Beisser told the Deseret News that Wagner and BYU have had conversations, but nothing is currently official.

Wagner is an FCS team located in New York City, New York. The Seahawks finished 2014 with a 7-4 record.

BYU is in search of another opponent because of scheduling conflicts that occurred when the Cougars scheduled Missouri.

BYU and the Tigers play Nov. 14, 2015, which forces the Cougars to push their game against UNLV, originally slated for that day, to 2016 or 2017. It looks as if Idaho State will fill BYU’s spot against the Rebels.

With its contest against Idaho State, UNLV replaces BYU on the Bengals' schedule, leaving the Cougars with an open date Oct. 24. Wagner would fill that open spot.
