SALT LAKE CITY — A fight between two men who reportedly each had relationships with the same woman left one man in the hospital with three stab wounds early Wednesday.

Salt Lake police detective Cody Lougy said a man was driving in the 700 block of Jeremy Street (840 West) just after midnight and drove by his former girlfriend's house. In front of the house, he saw a man with a child that the former boyfriend had with the woman.

The suspect confronted the man and a fight ensued, spilling into the street. The victim, in his 20s, was stabbed in the stomach, leg and arm, Lougy said. He was "bleeding profusely," Lougy said, but the injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

Police who responded to the scene found Emilio Johnson, 23, hiding in a shed, on a couch and under a blanket nearby, and arrested him. Johnson was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated assault.
