After a fantastic run to the Sweet Sixteen, BYU finished No. 18 in the final USA Today Coaches Poll. This is the first time the Cougars have finished ranked in the Top 25 since the 2005-06 season when they finished No. 23.

BYU is only the third 12-seed in women's basketball history to make it to the Sweet Sixteen. The Cougars upset 5-seed N.C. State 72-57 and defeated 4-seed Nebraska 80-76 in the Round of 32. The Cougars even held a second-half lead over eventual national championship UConn before falling 70-51 to the Huskies.

The Cougars finished 28-7, setting a new school record for single-season wins. BYU's Sweet Sixteen trip was only the second in school history.
