Mark White and Marla Bailey hike with their dog, Quinn, in Neffs Canyon in Salt Lake City on Sunday, March 30, 2014.

Hikers took advantage of the dry weather in Neff's Canyon on Sunday morning before rain and snow hit the Wasatch Front. The precipitation continued through Sunday afternoon, driving temperatures down to 38 degrees. By about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, both Big and Little Cottonwood canyons were restricted to vehicles with chains or four-wheel drive. Sunday's storm was the first of two expected to hit the Wasatch Front in the next week. The next storm will look similar to Sunday's. Snow is expected to gather on the benches and possibly in the valley areas. It will likely hit between late Monday night through Tuesday morning, which may impact the early commute.
