After 18 holes of golf at NAU's Red Rocks Invitational on Saturday, junior Brooke Whittaker leads Utah Valley as she sits in the tie for eighth place at 2-over par. As a team, the Wolverines find themselves tied for ninth out of 18 teams.

Whittaker's 74 puts her just four strokes back of the tournament lead. Jacquie LeMarr from host Northern Arizona leads the tournament at 2-under (70). The 74 for Whittaker marks her third best score of the season.

Redshirt freshman Kimberly Nyhus is next for UVU as she currently sits in a tie for 24th place at 5-over par after shooting a 77 on Saturday. Freshman Monica Yeates finds herself tied for 40th after firing an 80 (+8), while sophomore Cassandra Lesa and junior Heather Mathison are tied for 77th place after carding identical scores of 84 (+12).

UVU junior Hannah Herman, who is playing the weekend as an individual, is also tied for 77th after shooting 12-over (84) on Saturday. Fellow individual sophomore Kalea Heu finds herself in 97th place after carding an 89 during Saturday's opening round.

As a squad, the UVU women are tied for ninth with a combined total of 315 (+27). Xavier leads the tournament at 11-over (299), while Sacramento State is two shots back at +13 (301) and fellow WAC foe Grand Canyon is in third at +16 (304). Utah Valley's 315 puts it ahead of Eastern Washington (12th), Weber State (13th), IUPUI (14th), British Columbia (15th), Northern Colorado (16th) Mesa CC (17th) and North Dakota (18th).

The two-day, 36-hole tournament, which is being contested at the OakCreek Country Club, concludes Sunday.
