The Utah Grizzlies beat the San Francisco Bulls, 3-0, on Saturday night at the Cow Palace as Ben Meisner stopped 20 shots in his first professional shutout.

Danick Paquette led Utah with one goal and one assist, and he gave the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead on his third goal of the year seven minutes into the first period. He picked up a puck at the redline and walked in, firing a slap shot past goaltender J.P. Anderson.

Utah made it 2-0 with 8:07 left in the second period as the Grizzlies began to control things five-on-five with extended time in the Bulls end. Michael Pelech won a faceoff to Teigan Zahn, who buried his first of the year through traffic.

In the third, Utah made it 3-0 as Paquette won a battle in the corner, and Brent Gwidt fed Kris Hogg for his fourth goal of the year.

The Grizzlies open another five-game home stand Friday, Nov. 29, and Saturday, Nov. 30, when they host San Francisco on Thanksgiving weekend.

Friday is the Teddy Bear Toss where fans can bring stuffed animals to throw onto the ice following Utah’s first goal. The toys will be donated to children in need over the holidays.

Saturday is a post-game skate with the Grizzlies team. Skate rental is $2.

The holiday fun continues Wednesday, Dec. 4, when Utah hosts Alaska for the next Wild $2 Wednesday. Fans can get certain food and beverages for $2. Students can get $5 student tickets with ID.

The series with Alaska continues Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7, with the Aces.
