SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster College women’s soccer team completed the regular season with a 3-0 win over Carroll (Mont.) in a Frontier Conference game at Dumke Field on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, Westminster finishes the regular season at 8-7-2 overall and 3-1-2 in Frontier Conference games. The Griffins have secured at least a second-place finish in the league with outside hopes of a conference title. Carroll drops to 6-6-2 overall and sits in third in the conference at 1-2-1.

Jessica Harris got the Griffins on the board in the 33rd minute with a direct kick from the top of the penalty area. Tiana Cerciello drew the foul at the top of the box, and Harris stepped up quickly and put the shot in the back of the net for her fifth goal of the season.

Nicole Carter added her team-leading seventh goal of the season in the 60th minute on another direct kick from the top of the box. The left-footed shot carried over the wall and just over the leaping keeper for the 2-0 advantage. Lexi Tucker capped the afternoon with her fourth goal of the season in the 66th minute. Jennifer Beaudoin played the ball into Tucker to notch her first career assist.

The Griffins dominated possession for most of the game, and they finished with 14 shots and 10 on goal. They limited Carroll to just one shot on a direct kick on the first half. Tucker took five shots to lead the Griffins with Harris getting three shots away.

Abi Yanke earned her fifth shutout of the season without making a save.

Westminster will now have a week off before heading to Billings, Mont., for the Unaffiliated Conference Tournament. The Griffins are the No. 3 seed in the tournament and will face sixth-seeded Presentation (S.D.) on Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. MST in the quarterfinals.
