WEST JORDAN — A woman police say was driving an estimated 100 mph on Redwood Road and making sudden stops was arrested early Tuesday.
The woman passed a West Jordan police officer on Redwood Road near 7600 South at about 3 a.m., traveling an estimated 100 mph, West Jordan Police Sgt. Joe Monson said.
The woman refused to pull over as the officer pursued. But she made a sudden stop at the on-ramp to I-215, Monson said. She then started driving again and made another stop at 5400 South.
This time, officers were able to break the passenger-side window to get her out and into custody, Monson said.
The woman was "ranting and saying strange phrases" he said. Detectives were looking into possible mental issues and not drugs or alcohol being factors, Monson said.
The 22-year-old woman was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of fleeing, reckless driving and driving on a denied license.
