PHOENIX — Not too long ago the Utah Blaze squared off against the AFL defending champion Arizona Rattlers and laid an egg.

That was the beginning of what proved to be a dark stretch. However, after emerging from a three-game slide with their limbs intact, the Blaze have returned to .500. Now, following a dramatic win over Spokane, Utah incredibly has a chance to move into first place in the Western Division with a win over the Rattlers Saturday at 7 p.m.

Arizona has dominated the series with the Blaze, winning seven of the last eight meetings. Ironically, the lone Blaze victory in the stretch occurred in Phoenix when Utah whipped Arizona, 62-49.

As usual, Arizona employs an explosive offensive attack behind quarterback Nick Davila. The Rattlers lead the AFL in points per game at 69.7.
